This is one of my favorite books, with its moving story and its sweet illustrations that will tug at your heart. It deals with a complex topic - loss - in a way that is brilliant and relatable for children and adults. The story is about Taylor, who doesn't know what to do or where to turn to when something terrible happens. All the animals he encounters all have answers for his problem. The bear wants Taylor to get mad and the chicken wants to talk. They all tell him to process his loss in their way but it just doesn't seem or feel right. While the animals fail, the rabbit does nothing but just listen and this is exactly what Taylor needs.
