We are looking for a talented and experienced freelance designer to collaborate with our Little Moony family and contribute to our vision of creating stylish, sustainable, and joyful children’s clothing. In this key role, the Freelance Assistant Designer will work closely with our creative team to develop new designs, refine existing styles, and help bring our collections to life. This is a flexible, project-based role offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our premium children’s wear brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

1) Creative Design & Development

• Design and develop seasonal styles, including sketches and technical packages.
• Translate brand vision and inspiration into innovative, functional, and stylish children’s clothing designs.
• Stay informed on children’s fashion trends, colors, and fabric innovations.

2) Technical Execution

• Create and finalize detailed flat sketches and tech packs for production.
• Collaborate with pattern makers and sample makers to ensure fit, quality, and design consistency.
• Provide input during fittings and revise designs as necessary based on feedback.

3) Brand Collaboration

• Maintain a clear understanding of Little Moony’s brand identity and ensure all designs align with our ethos.
• Work closely with the creative team to ensure designs meet both aesthetic and practical goals.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

We are looking for someone who is highly creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about sustainable design. The ideal candidate demonstrates the following:

1) Creativity & Design Skills:

• Expertise in children’s fashion design or similar categories.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) or similar design software.

2) Technical Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and fabric selection.
• Experience preparing tech packs and working with manufacturers.

3) Organization & Communication:

• Ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborative projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-3 years of professional experience in fashion design, preferably children’s wear.
• Proven track record of successful freelance or full-time design projects.
• Portfolio showcasing creative and technical expertise (required).
• Familiarity with sustainable practices and eco-friendly materials is a plus.
