There is something magical about this stage of design, when everything is still in motion and nothing is fixed. My desk is a little messy at times, scattered with trims, fabrics, sketches, and bits of inspiration, but to me it feels alive. This is where Moony’s world begins, not polished and perfect but playful and full of possibility.
The mood board you see here is my compass, not fixed, but an anchoring point. Bright, bold colors, and vibrant florals and whimsical animals. Cheerful, wiggly faces. Patterns that feel more like play than precision. Each print tells its own little story, but together they spark something larger, a vibrant archive of creativity stitched into a season.

This past week I let myself lean fully into what I call creative play. I pulled out colorful ric rac trims that remind me of childhood craft boxes, layered vintage inspired floral fabrics across the table, and sketched silhouettes onto little cards. One of my favorites so far is a one piece with a sunshine yellow collar, playful pockets, and floral vines climbing down the leg. Another is a pair of harem pants covered in blooms, roomy, soft, and ready for adventure.
Designing this way always brings me back to why I started Little Moony. Yes, there is structure in what I do, patterns, production, timelines, but at the heart of it this work is emotional. It is about joy. It is about capturing that spark of childhood and giving it shape in something you can wear and love.

Moony’s world has always been a balance of whimsy and craft. We design with care, but we never lose that sense of wonder. Each piece should feel like more than clothing, it should feel like a story, a memory, a keepsake.
This is just the beginning. These sketches and swatches will grow and shift as the season takes shape, but I could not resist sharing this little window into my process with you. Because for me the best part is not only the finished collection, it is the play along the way.
Stay tuned. I cannot wait for you to see what is next.
